Therapeutic Taping

This course is 6 hours in person and 6 hours online.

Therapeutic taping involves the use of thin stretchy elastic tape applied to a client’s skin and used to support muscles and decrease pain.

Learning Objectives

In this class the students will:
1. Review the history of therapeutic taping
2. Review research-based benefits of taping therapy
4. Review adverse effects of taping therapy
5. Identify contraindications involved with taping therapy
6. Discuss types of tape
5. Discuss items needed
6. Discuss guidelines for safe practice
7. Review common taping layouts
8. View a taping demonstration on the knee
9. View a taping demonstration on the shoulder
10. View a taping demonstration on the ankle
11. View a taping demonstration on the wrist
12. Prepare for a written exam (review)
